GC University Lahore

Founded in 1864 under the British Raj, Government College University (GCU) Lahore stands as one of South Asia’s most historic seats of higher learning. Originally established as Government College, it was granted full university status in 2002. Today, GCU comprises five faculties—Arts & Social Sciences, Languages, Islamic & Oriental Learning, Mathematical & Physical Sciences, and Chemistry & Life Sciences—offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees.

GCU boasts a extraordinary legacy, including two Nobel Laureates: Dr. Abdus Salam in Physics and Dr. Har Gobind Khorana in Physiology or Medicine.
